What to Expect
REACh support groups are led and supported by dedicated volunteers who understand the unique challenges families face.
"The first time my husband and I came to a REACh meeting, we were kind of expecting the same-old-same-old for parents of disabled kids: Some “experts” who have no clue what we’ve been through telling us what we’re doing wrong and what we should do instead, or pointing us toward half-baked resources that usually lead to a frustrating tangle of useless dead-ends. But that didn’t happen at all. Instead, we found ourselves welcomed into a community of parents, all of whom had been through many of the exact same trials and tribulations in what had, until then, felt like a vast, lonely wasteland of parenting. Still, three years later, the Roseville monthly meeting is one of the highlights of every month, where we can both receive and offer support in this caring, uplifting community. We are comforted, inspired, motivated, and even educated every time. It’s like an energy drink for the soul. At REACh we’re finally among those who truly understand, and that is the best resource of all. Thank you, Laraine, and REACh!"
